Elephant Parade

1 products
Elephant Parade is a social enterprise, founded in 2006 to raise awareness and funds for the conservation of the Asian elephant threatened with extinction. In 2007 the first parade took place in Rotterdam, with an art exhibition of more than 100 elephants. By organising parades, worldwide attention is drawn to the preservation of the Asian elephant and the need to improve the living conditions of these animals. Numerous local and international artists and celebrities have contributed to the parades and created a unique design. After each event, the artworks are auctioned by renowned auction houses, such as Sotheby’s and Christies. Replicas of some designs are made in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The miniature elephants are painted by hand, are available in various sizes and are issued in limited editions. 20% of their net profits are donated to various institutions and projects that are concerned with the welfare of the Asian elephant, such as Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital, the home of Mosha, in Lampang, Thailand. In the meantime, over 30 parades have taken place, and more and more people are familiar with Elephant Parade’s mission to help endangered elephants.
